Pure Highland Beef from our Organic Fold of Cattle

Cattle are allowed to mature naturally on the heather hill as well as browsing the Hebridean coastline for seaweed. In winter, cattle are fed home-grown organic fodder.

Highland beef has a wonderful flavour, described by Rick Stein in "Food Heroes" (Radio Times 24/08/02) as the best beef he has ever tasted. Cattle are slaughtered locally, the meat hung for 21 - 28 days.

All our meats are individually cut and vacuum packed by the Isle of Mull Community Butcher. Please remember that Highland Cattle are not a big-framed breed and so do not have large quantities of any one cut eg fillet or sirloin.

Similarly, Hebridean sheep are fine boned. Their meat is quite delicately flavoured, and very delicious.

We receive many letters thanking us for taking the time and care to rear animals the way we do, from people who are quite prepared to wait until our meat is "in season" to enjoy the goodness and flavour.
